The technical term for vitamin E is tocopherol.
This vitamin is produced by plants and cynobacteria. It protects polyunsaturated fatty acids in the skin’s cell membranes from destruction by oxidation, which means vitamin E is a so-called antioxidant.
What are the effects of vitamin E?
The liposulable vitamin E passes through the horny layer of the skin. The impact is diverse.
- It smoothens the skin.
- It improves tissue repair.
- It reduces the formation of scar tissue.
Depending on the concentration of vitamin E the skin is protected from UV rays, therefore it can be regarded as a natural sun blocker.
